About Foy’s Lake
Foy’s Lake Chittagong is one of the beautiful tourist spots in the port city of Chittagong. Foy’s Lake is an artificial lake which is situated in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The Lake was made in 1924 by making a dam over the flowing water that came down from the hills in the Northern portion of Chittagong. The objective behind making a man-made lake was to give water to the inhabitants of the railway colony. A railway engineer whose name is Mr. Foy was the builder and accepted to appear the task. That’s why the lake was named by her tribute. Basically, Pahartali was an important place for railroad town with workshop, construction, and repair. A decent number of railway road workers live in this area. At present, the place is very important because a railway carriage workshop, diesel workshop, Railway Loco shed, Laboratory, Railway stores, Electric workshop, School are situated.
